I have a couple of newish drums that I need to turn you on to. The first is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dancingdrum.com\/store\/djundjun.html\">beautiful dundunba from Dancing Drums<\/a>. This is a West African drum that is the lowest member of a trio of drums that are traditionally played together. I started with the big one first and might add the smaller ones (sangban and kenkeni) later when I save up some dough.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rubright.com\/basement\/wp-content\/uploads\/dununba-300x231.jpg\" alt=\"dundunba\" title=\"dundunba\" width=\"300\" height=\"231\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-414\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.rubright.com\/basement\/wp-content\/uploads\/dununba-300x231.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.rubright.com\/basement\/wp-content\/uploads\/dununba-1024x789.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.rubright.com\/basement\/wp-content\/uploads\/dununba.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At first I was a bit concerned that the pitch on this one was too high and the sticks that came with it weren&#8217;t helping. I found a small wood bass drum stick wrapped in moleskin that sounds great &#8211; the low end comes out nicely that way.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Also note the bell. I bought a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wwdrums.com\/african-bells-c-25_55.html?osCsid=cd28a56d06e259196e01d1a7a3ad102c\">set of three African bells<\/a> that go with the three dun dun drums. They are VERY crunchy and authentic. <\/p>\n<p>Up next is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicfolk.com\/docs\/Instruments\/NewInstruments\/Ibur%20Drums.htm\">Jim Ibur ceramic dumbek<\/a>. This is a very nice drum that I recommend highly.
